Creative Ways To Document Your Memories From Travelling

For many of us, nothing tops exploring new places and travelling to new countries. Many of our fondest memories come when travelling to new destinations, whether that’s while on holiday, volunteering abroad or as part of a year-long travelling around our favourite continent. But it’s equally as important to hold on to these memories, and finding creative ways to document our travels is the best way to do this. Here are 6 ways to display your travel experiences and cherish your most memorable moments.

Photo Books

Probably the most common way to display memories from a certain trip is to collate them into a photo album. If you’ve packed a digital camera or a Polaroid camera with you when travelling, you should be left with a stack of physical images that can be manually added to a blank photo album. A more modern approach would be to use a website like Snapfish, where you can create bespoke photo books online using photos from your camera roll.

Scrapbooks

Images are great, but memories can come in other forms too. Items like tickets, bank notes and wristbands can instantly take you back to the destination you collected them and storing them together in a scrapbook is a great way to hold on to your memories.

Sketch Books

It’s not for everyone, but if you are a talented artist, why not take a sketchpad and pencil on your travels? There’s a good chance you’ll run into stunning views, iconic landmarks and sights you’ve never seen before. Capturing your exact view of these moments with a pad and pencil can be a unique way to hold on to your memories.

Travel Wall

If you want to go a step further, you could dedicate a whole wall to your travel experience. If your home has more of a shabby chic vibe, turning a wall into a giant scrapbook page full of photo prints and items could work best. For a more elegant look, a more suitable option would be to create personalised canvas prints using your best photos.

Travel Map

Another common favourite way to document the cities or countries you’ve visited is to take a map and stick pins in the places you’ve been to. You could even combine this with some of the other techniques already mentioned. For example, adding relevant polaroids alongside the pins or by printing a giant map and turning your travel map into a travel wall.

Vlogging

The ultimate modern way to document your memories is to create a travel vlog. This doesn’t have to be shared online, although creating a public or even private YouTube channel is a great way for family and friends to keep up with your travels. Vlogging also removes the worry of losing memories, which can easily happen when your experiences are stored as physical images.

These are just a few ways to document your travels, but maybe you can think of something even more creative. One thing’s for sure though, you’ll definitely want to look back on your experiences in years to come!
