Four Seasons Bahamas Refreshes Hartford Wing Rooms

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas, is set to unveil a refreshed design for its 24 Hartford Ocean View Guestrooms and two Hartford Ocean View Suites in October 2026. The redesign promises a brighter, more contemporary take on the wing’s classic style, drawing inspiration from the surrounding sand and sea.

According to John Conway, the resort’s General Manager, these accommodations are highly sought-after for their historic charm, prime location, and proximity to key amenities. The ground-floor rooms, with their direct terrace access to the lawn, are particularly popular among families.

A Timeless Redesign

The Ocean Club has partnered with Joanna Kerr Design to lead the transformation. Kerr’s vision blends classical architecture with a palette inspired by the ocean and shoreline. The result is a seamless fusion of old and new, with soft, natural tones accented by lively custom artwork and richly patterned textiles.

In the guestrooms, blue linen-inspired wallcoverings replace darker wood paneling, creating a lighter, more serene atmosphere. Layered wood finishes add depth and warmth, while furnishings evoke vintage travel trunks, nodding to the resort’s heritage.

The redesign also introduces new tile flooring inspired by sand and shell stone, as well as reimagined bathrooms featuring large-format wave-patterned stone tile. Custom design elements, such as hand-tufted rugs and bespoke furnishings, further connect the interiors to the property’s rich history.

The Hartford Wing, which opened in 1962, remains a beloved part of the resort. Its prime location near The Spa, Martini Bar, and other signature experiences makes it a popular choice for guests. The refreshed guestrooms and suites will debut in early October, following the resort’s seasonal closure.

Enhanced Amenities and Experiences

Guests of The Ocean Club can enjoy three distinctive pools, including the oceanfront Ocean Pool and the adults-only Versailles Pool. The resort also offers a complimentary Kids For All Seasons program for children ages four to twelve.

Artistic and Historical Touches

Custom design elements throughout the guestrooms and suites pay homage to The Ocean Club’s rich history. Hand-tufted rugs feature basketweave motifs inspired by the Hartford courtyard, while bespoke furnishings and lighting include sculptural woven pendants. A private bar adorned with a shimmering blue glass mosaic reminiscent of tropical fish scales adds a touch of glamour. Thoughtfully curated black-and-white photography throughout the guestrooms celebrates the resort’s celebrated past, evoking the timeless allure that has defined The Ocean Club.
